Internet Archiveoutage history & past incidents
A running record of Internet Archive outages, incidents and downtime, logged automatically by DownRN. Uptime and history fill in as we keep watching — we never backfill or invent past numbers.

Tracking since Jun 24, 2026% of our checks that found Internet Archivefully operational. Longer windows fill in as data accrues — we never show uptime we haven't measured.
The Internet Archive runs the Wayback Machine and a free digital library of books, audio, software and video, hosted in its own datacenters rather than on a big commercial cloud — so its outages are its own and rarely line up with an AWS or Cloudflare event. Both archive.org and web.archive.org load as JavaScript app shells, which means during an incident the page still returns normally and the failure only shows up inside the app: an "Internet Archive services are temporarily offline" notice, a spinner that never resolves, or saved snapshots that suddenly 404. The Archive publishes no status page, so DownRN checks its Wayback availability API directly — a real read against the backend that serves snapshots, which fails when the archive genuinely can't answer.
