Frequently asked
How do I check if a website is down?
Paste the URL above and we'll request it from our server. If it answers, it's reachable; if it times out or returns a server error, it's likely down. Note that a site can respond while the actual app behind it is broken — that's why we also rely on community reports for the apps we track.
Is the site down for everyone or just me?
If our server can reach it but you can't, the problem is probably your connection, DNS, or network — try another network or device. If our check also fails (or lots of people are reporting it), it's the site.
Why does a site show 'reachable' when it's not working for me?
Big sites often answer automated requests with a security/bot challenge (HTTP 401/403/429). The server is up, but the app may still be degraded. We flag these honestly as 'reachable — likely up' rather than a clean 'up.'
How do I check if a server is down?
Enter the site or hostname above. A server is down when the request times out, the connection is refused, DNS won't resolve, or it returns a 5xx error (500/502/503/504). Our checker names the likely cause in plain English instead of a raw status code.
Why is a website down for me but not for others?
If our server reaches the site but you can't, the issue is local: a stale DNS cache, your ISP or network blocking it, a VPN/proxy/firewall, or a cached broken page. Try another network or device. If our check fails too — or people are reporting it — it's the site.
What does it mean when a website is down?
A site is 'down' when its server stops responding normally — it's offline, overloaded, in maintenance, or returning an error like 503 or 500 instead of the page. Our checker tells you which, and for tracked apps we add community reports and official status for the full picture.
